I have a scene in which I can't seem to control the lighting at all. I can drop in any of the three available Octane light types and turn them on or off or change their settings or delete all lights from the scene and it makes no difference to the rendered result.
I really want to create stronger shadows. Any tips would be much appreciated.
Thus far I have stuck with the stand alone Octane application because it's much more difficult to set up materials and lighting in the Max plugin, but this is for an animation so it would take too long to use the stand alone. The Max plugin is also crashing every few hours, but the stand alone also bugs out on me every so often.
Octane lights not doing anything in Max plugin.

It can be a reason. If your scene is too large the power of lights is not enough to get visible result.
Thank you for the response. I have modeled things to real world scale with a 100 meter x 100 meter plane for my landscape.
My deadline was today so I had to go with the lighting as it was, but hopefully I can figure it out for future reference.
