It is advantageous to have a video card or 2 GTX580 Gtx590, my motherboard has four PCI-E x16 slots.

If you need a lot of memory you should get two GTX580. The GTX590 comes with 1.5GB per GPU, while you can get the GTX580 with 3GB of memory. The GTX580 is also clocked slightly higher. A GTX590 takes less space of course, and I think it also uses less power than two GTX580 cards.

It might make sence to put a combination of those =) i mean,..take a look,, theoreticly:

Let's put 1 low-end quadro (or any other gtx=), 2x580 & 580:

* if You can fit you scene to 1,5gb even & leave Quadro (or your prefered 'screen' card) to run Your monitor..you still left with like doing the job with the power ~4x580 ( as 590 is basicly two 580 glued =)
* if your scene more than 1,5gb You can render it on 2x580 (if You go for 3gb models), and multitask to render other stuff, maybe testing something out with 590 (if it is possible, to run two renders side by side..not so sure =)

I'm still waiting for Kepler architecture to be explored and used for GPU rendering, might have to wait until Q3 (to see new layout introduced) but after that loking to build something FLEXIBLE, steping not only, for maximum speed or maximum memory & sacrifying the other, but a combination of those two in one rig =)
