You have to have all the right bits that work together for Octane to run.
If you have all the *latest* then those may not be the right ones for the particular Octane version.
Read the post where you downloaded the beta to make sure you have the appropriate driver and toolkit.
Note too that Mac gets updates that can break things.

Anybody from Refractive Sofware caring to let us (OSX users) know when we will finally get a 64bit version? Cuda 4 is now at 64bit, it would be nice to have finally an official answer.

Setting up a 64-bit build will be quite an undertaking, it's not on our immediate roadmap. If we plan to make this build we will let you know.

thanks for the answer roelamd but it's a very bad news, but i must to admit that i really don't know how hard could be to build the 64 bit version :D
anyway, take in count that 10.8 is just around the corner (summer 2012) and it's only at 64 bit so, sooner or later, it must to be done :roll:
