I am going to buy octane on may 13th 2012. Thats my birthday
. will octane be complete by then? I really want it because its the best plus it is affordable (for a student) at the moment.

It is affordable because it's not a final, so you don't really want it to be final by your birthday. You shouldn't worry though because there's NO CHANCE Octane will reach final by May.

I have been amazed how long it has been in beta (don't take this the wrong way). Its just that it is the most advanced render engine I have ever used. So much control. One thing that i would like to see is a color blind mode. It is hard for me to see the nodes out-in puts when the all look alike. Maybe different shaped would be nice. that so far is the one thing i find frustrating.
