Hi there,

I post those images in the WIP forum because I will consider them finished once MLT will be implemented, indeed with a lot of glasses it's hard for now to have a neat result.

One cooked for about 8h with flat environment lighting and the second for about 3h with sun sky, the amount of fireflies was more or less the same, so after several hours of rendering the result doesn't seem to change anymore, after even 1h the result was quite the same, so welcome to MLT which will help to get neat result in even less time.

I rendered them at 3840x2400 with Octane beta 2, I used noise and fireflies removers and downscaled to 1280 to get a neater result.

Edit : I forgot to say it has been completely modelled in Blender

i think you can make those facet eyes really realistic if you map them with a honeycomb black and white pattern texture to modulate the thin film coating on them.

That's exactely what I did on the spec but it is not so visible, I should tune that, later on when I'll revisit it with MLT ;)

some rudimentary support for portals would help too...

i'm gonna be happy when beta2 is out of the door so i finally have time to work on portals / MLT.

Nice pictures, but, hmmm, 8 hours, 3 hours, these sound like Maxwell rendertimes not Octane's.
