hahahaha!!! that's true, they won't buy plastic unless it's a triple-layered-stereo-vision-blue-laser-cordless-padded-titanium-coated mouse.

Well since they all have a magic mouse, they won't buy a mouse with more than 0 buttons

I don't know any 3D mac users that has a one button mouse(they all use a 3 button mouse). You can make it a requirement to have a 3 button mouse to operate Octane probably written somewhere on the site, this way you wont have to change anything or worry about support issue

I'm both a Windows and Mac user. I have a Magic mouse, so no problem for the 3 button. But sometimes I use my Macbook (but can be the Macbook Pro) without mouse. As you know the trackpad of the Macbook is awesome,it's really big and with multitouch it's a pleasure to use.
Most of the program I use are quite difficult to manage, mainly because of the missing middle mouse button.
In my experience Mac user with only a single button mouse (with a decent video card) are not so easy to find.
I'm very curious to test Octane for Mac, I know that with the actual video card will be a pain, but waiting for the Macbook pro 17" refresh (hope that they don't go with ATI).

maybe ALT makes all these actions 10x as slow ?

could be usefull to get the good view

that should'nt be needed.
it that's the case you are probably working on a wrong scale... check your scene scale...

I use blender blender with 1 blender unit = 1m.
I think this is the proper ratio.
I resize my scene by 10 before export and have the same problem.
at some point I can't zoom.

yeah, it's because octane uses a perspective camera.
if you're used to an otho camera like in blender's ortho mode, you can keep zooming in and out.

you'll notice the same situation, in blender, if you switch to a perspective camera.
the closer you zoom in to the point of interest, the less you can and you arrive at the closest point.

the solution is not to keep zooming but to change the point of interest by panning the camera.

Hi, just bought the beta and i must say it`s pure magic!

Anyway, the camera movement is the only thing that bugs me. It is very hard to get good control of the camera
when you have to orbit the mesh you imported. The closest thing i`ve come to emulate camera movement is to
zoom nearly all the way in, then use shift + rightmouse to move the camera, and then just use the leftmousebtn to rotate the camera
(as the point of view is right in front of the camera).

Every 3d app seem to have different mousecontrols, so i have no problem with the current setup.

As you mentioned, a fps/wasd camera would be perfect. In fact it is a must. Maybe arrow up/down could set the camera speed,
and arrow left/right could be the "mouse sensitivity" or rotation speed.

Another thing is the how the panning works now, if you look down and try to pan to the left, the camera moves either up or down.
I guess it doesn`t move in camera local space?

Spacenavigator support would just be a bonus.

Thanks for a great product!

I have to say that I never bump on such problem while using cinema perspective camera... but then I almost never zoom (as in actually changing the POV), the camera just keeps travelling along its z axis...

Hi All,
I have just succeed in exporting a clean architectural mesh (interior real archviz job) with its texture from Lightwave.
Loading the scene did not give any issue. My only GIGANTIC problem is to navigate in my scene :(
After almost one hour trying to place my camera at the correct place and angle, I have to give up…
I really thing there is some real issue:
Left clic must only rotate the camera, ok? so, Why the camera position move?
I cannot zoom in to place my camera inside my scene… it is maybe a scale problem… I don't know.
Can somebody help me?
