Its so nice to adjust quickly the settings....one thing that was tough to get used to was using realistic lights/shadows/materials. When using Octane you have to break out of the old ways of biased renders. Nice to not have to wait 24 hours for a render to adjust settings huh? :D

Wait until we get full scanned humans to play with soon....then you will see a difference. DAZ characters are ok for now, but real scanned figures with Octane will change the world!

actually I always mentioned that material settings are so wrong , but nobody listen making alternatives to stuff that don;t even make sense , I am the old school , and do things the way and it is not far from what you have in octane , this 3D adventure started with the right stuff but on the way it just skip the important stuff and go somewhere where everything started to be fake .. with octane the 3D world is so much simple as it reflect the realism and so much simple , but you need to empty your coup before you start using it as I saw already stuff that I was like OMG how they they do it ....to screw the materials so bad ..
well I rendered the real scan face yesterday , it was 200 MB pure scan with all skin details and stuff , can't be compared to DS stuff , actually to anything , the DS models meshes are anatomically correct but that is just the base to do something with it and for me not one of them looks right straight from the box but what is for DS is for DS .. I hope in the future i can create more Octane based characters with total different UV's and templates to reduce the huge sizes of the textures and materials ,and that will be really cool , just busy right now with the hair production so not much time for other stuff at this moment , not to mention beta testing stuff
but I got already some new inspiration in my work and that is for sure a plus

Well I can't wait to see your new stuff. Nice to see others who like to render more than furniture! ;) I like that you are posting to Octane forum as well to wake up everybody here as to what Octane can do with humans with an artist who understands what to do. I have to check out your head scan....I believe the same as you that scanning will be the future because real skin/normal/ maps from real data is as real as it gets...no guess work.

I hope some day Octane gets layers.....people sometimes don't understand you have oil and persperation on your skin and they have their own properties in addition to the skins properties. Your skin has pores, scales etc and we don't see them far away but they are still there interacting with light and that is that real fine almost invisible noise to the skin. Lots of stuff, but Octane makes it easy and simple to replicate real materials. I try to keep it as simple as possible with no crazy speghetti string nodes setup that adds nothing and mostly destroys a render. Some people like to make things complicated so they can be proud of themselves...for nothing really.

Anyway I am rambling on and on........ Please keep posting your great work and glad to have you aboard the Octane train! :D
