Did a linux 64bit vs WinXP 32bit comparison

I don't have the numbers in front of me to post them but there was around a 2% speed improvement in WinXP 32!
Isn't linux supposed to be better? Isn't 64bit compiled supposed to be better?
I thing it must be that the windows compiling tools are better... I dunno

Any thoughts?

And Refractive team.... should we expect Linux 64bit version to be better in the future that WinXP 32bit?

PS. I am thinking of switching to permanent single boot 64 ubuntu, that's why I ask this question

I think you should compare it to Win64, to get a fair picture.

anyway, 32bit OS = useless for serious graphics work nowadays, so that 2% means nothing.

1) 2% difference is not even worth mentioning.
2) 64 bit isn't necessarily faster than 32 bit.
3) Linux is not necessarily faster than windows.
