Hi

I have just bought the plugin for 3ds max. They write that I haft to have a regular version of octane for windows installed on the computer to get the plugin to work.

Is this correct, or not necessary anymore.?

I have only bought the plugin for 99€. Do I haft to buy the standalone version to windows also for 99€.?

Hi, yes you need both Octane standalone and the plugin.
There is a discount deal of 179 euro for purchasing them together atm see http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... =7&t=11281
If you didn't understand this requirement at the time I suggest you send Refractive an email now and they will probably be able to assist you with buying the stand alone as well for the right total price.
I think the contact address for this is: sales at refractivesoftware dot com
The Refractive office is open NZ daytime so there might be a delay before they reply.

OK. Thanks.

I didn't read it properly, when I bought the program. :(

Last update with "update geometry" option definitely worth its price. You could save some money with buying both StandAlone and OctForMax at once. I did not cos I decided to try stand alone firstly. But it worth more then its price so I am still happy. Very nice feeling to be licensed octane user by the way!

Well, now I don't feel so alone buying the wrong thing. Already sent an email and hopefully it can be sorted out. In my case I'm not even a 3DS user!

Worst case it's a lesson to really pay attention to every stage of buying something - even though I'm sure I pressed on the buy button for the renderer itself!
