render an evermotion scene

when export as obj and import to octane all the materials are lost, what would be setting I need to preserve materials?
is there a tutorial on importing from 3ds max to octane?

The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

I tried rendering with that unofficial exproter as it seems somewhat more updated, but same issues, no textures coming through

I may need to have a look through those 18 pages :)

hm; what exactly do you mean with "no textures coming through"?
if your basic scene in max is made for vray (as lots of evermotion max scenes are) you need to first convert the vray mats to standard mats, otherwise max won't export any materials...
