Wow, I haven't been back here in a while, but Octane still looks like a great option. I remember when I suggested the Octane developers seek out a relationship with Magma for an alternate PCI expansion option to Cubix and was dismissed out of hand. With the demise of the X-Pander relationship I still would recommend seeking out a partnership with Magma as they've been building these types of expansion units for a whole menagerie of uses for decades at this point.
The trouble is this specialty stuff is quite expensive.
Probably it makes more sense to just build another PC with enough pci-e slots.
