Hello everyone I am new to Octane Render. I was wondering if someone could help me if possible. I created a house model in ArchiCAD 14 and exported to
Artlantis 4.0 to add really nice plants and other objects. Does any one know a procedure to export from Artlantis to Octane Render (OR).
I do know OR reads obj files but my exported file isn't capable of being read, OR simply closes. So I can only assume that
OR does not support obj files exported from Artlantis

Does it crash on any file exported from Atlantis? And can you send us an OBJ file that causes a crash?

Roaland,
Thanks for replying. I have tried several times to attach a simple model file exported from Artlantis as OBJ but for
some odd reason the clears. Is there another way I can you the file. The size of the file is 20mb.

You can pack the OBJ file in a ZIP file and attach the ZIP file.

Roeland,
I had to send you a different file because I think there is a limit on the file size even as a zip. My original
zip file was 20.4 mb so it wouldn't attach. I have attach a very simple model. Your help would be greatly
appreciated.

Hi,

The file you sent me loads and renders fine. Does Octane crash on your PC if you try to load it?

Rouland,
When opening the file, simply says file error. Octane does not close remains open.
I do have the latest nvidia drivers for the gtx 500 series. I did download
the test files from the website and even those give me a file error

My current set up
Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
i7 2600k
Msi gtx 560 (1gb vram)
16gb ddr3 corsair
Asus P8Z68 -V motherboard

does the pathname where your file(s) are contain special (non-ascii) characters by any chance? octane doesn't like that. if that is the case something like c:\test\mesh.obj should work...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

1x i7 2600K @5.0 (Asrock Z77), 16GB, 2x Asus GTX Titan 6GB @1200/3100/6200
2x i7 2600K @4.5 (P8Z68 -V P), 12GB, 1x EVGA GTX 580 3GB @0900/2200/4400

Hello,
My file path does not have any special (non ascii) characters. As I mentioned before, I downloaded
the sample scenes from the website and those have same issue with file error. If I can manage to
open an artlantis exported obj file and correct this error I will on the spot purchase the full version

the file renders also on my system without problems; what error message do you get if you try to open the file?
