Before people start complaining, I've specifically told the alpha testing team NOT to post any competition entries with the new features, as otherwise it would'nt be fair to the non-alpha testers.

Yes, we got strict rules to follow
Thanks Radiance for the additional infos

Here's a good question
Wich feature of the Beta 2 is this render showing ?

(beside the obvious photoshop glow...)
Hi Sam. Very nice and clean caustics:) What about render time
Aha you have been fooled (I admit I was too at first)
Its not caustics, the ground is glossy material... its just reflections

I could have done a diffuse ground
But the glossy materials (the gold) is only 0.2 reflective
To get good caustics you need more reflection !

Render time is 10min (1024 by 512 pixels)
4.09 MS/s using Pathtracing / 3 bounces (doesn't need more for this scene)

It was already really good at 5min render time but I let it render longer
At 20 second it was enough to judge of the colors and materials

Thanks Enrico for this awesome scene
Do you have a higher polycount one to share with me  ?
