Alternatives to Cubix Xpander?

Heya all
I've been trying to find a way to use more GPUs for Octane Render in OS X, and so far, sadly, GPU Xpander is the only solution i've found. To say the least, I find it not only way out of my budget, but extremely overpriced; The price of two used Mac Pros is simply not worth it for that thing! Going PC isn't an alternative for me either, sadly; I do have a PC built with the PCIE 7-Slot X58 board, but hackintoshing it would simply be too much darn trouble. (I also find it funny because the cost of the lowest end GPU-Xpander with just two slots, is probably around the same price as building about four PC's with 7 slots... lol)

So I am curious, are there any REASONABLY priced alternatives to the GPU Xpander, that will support at least 2 extra GPUs? Even better, are there any ways to home build something of the sort?

I ended up finding one called RenderStream while looking for youtube videos of Octane.
