Mmm... Question:
If I work with for example 3ds max, I want my fastest card as a primary card for modeling (Quadro for example),. Second card is unused in 3ds max.
Next, I run Octane with my primary card as a Quadro and secondary cheap Nvidia VGA.
How I can use a secondary VGA as a engine or your windows user interface if it's a second VGA?
It's possible? Or we must physically turn-off the PC and change the VGA order in the case?
Windows slow when Octane run

Can you explain that again, i don't understand exactly which card is which.

Yes, sorry
1° CARD: Quadro
2° CARD: Nvidia 9600 GT
So, I use as a primary card, obviously, the Quadro card. In this way 3ds max use this card (Quadro) for modeling fast.
Second unused card is the low card 9600 GT.
When I run Octane, in this configuration, it possible to use a Quadro like a primary renderer GPU engine and the 9600 GT as windows user interface UI graphic card?

I believe so. Go into the Device Manager in Octane and select the card you want Octane to use. Do this before loading a scene and it should work fine.cecofuli wrote:When I run Octane, in this configuration, it possible to use a Quadro like a primary renderer GPU engine and the 9600 GT as windows user interface UI graphic card?

Ok, but if my primary Card (OS Windows Card) is the Quadro, than Octane UI works with the Quadro.
Next, I choose the Quadro as a renderer GPU in Octane. My 9600 is for...???
Tha best solution IMO is 2 identical GPU in our system.

no, if you want to do that you will have to either use 2 displays, or use a display with 2 inputs connected to both cards and switch, or manually reconnect your display.cecofuli wrote:Yes, sorry

you can not use a card to drive your monitor that is not connected to it.
octane can allow you to select whatever card you want to use, but you can't run your display on a card and octane on the other if the display is not connected to it...

Many thanks Radiance

I changed the motherboard on GF8200A with integrated video, it is connected to the monitor. Now the interface is fast

I got three full 16x PCI-E lanes (2 units, suitable for double cards)
But no integrated graphics
Im screwed
