I'll have to say SSS. As SSS objects exists all around us. Simply put, can't do a convincing skin render without it. It would be nice that Octane can step outside of the boundary of still image.

Sketchup import with layers support in octane (ideal for viewing/hiding parts of a model as long as its setup in SU)
emissive lights (def needed at the moment)
360 degree hoz and vertical camera pathing (center of model as radial axis) for batch rendering (tagged with H and/or V in incremental stages so you know which is which)
Sky/sun maker for directional shadows (an image with time of year and automated light/horizon just like in sketchup)
Normal/bump mapping
More turbulence settings (need one thats more detailed) higher octives (at least double) with multi colour randomiser between 2 distinct colours (randomises inbetween these 2 colours of choice)
More raw math effects like turbulence (as mentioned in other posts)

There's a lot of features that I know will be implemented in a near future, so I will not mention them for the nth time...

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I think a feature like FryRender's Swap and/or Maxwell's multilight would be a great addition. The power of tweaking materials and lights without having to restart the render is golden.

Then I would go for stability and usability improvements.

it won't be very usefull in octane, it would take up far too much video ram.
imagine a render film taking 4 to 5x as much as now.

the point of octane is to tweak the lights/materials while rendering.

Radiance, thanks for pointing that out... Video memory limitations would also make impossible to save the raw render file in order to resume it in a later time?

no, that's perfectly feasible. ;)

In that case, and it's just a question of mine, wouldn't it be possible to load this raw render, and tweak lighting "offline"?
