Hi all..

I am buying Octane this week and i have couple of question. I would appreciate any help from you guys.
I use C4D and Lightwave for animations. I want to use Octane as my primary rendering engine. I have couple of questions:

1. Will i be able to render animations from C4D and LW in Octane?
2. Is it possible to get render passes Z Depth buffer, Ambient occlusion, Alpha and other passes separately?
3. Does Octane comes with plugins for C4D, LW, Maya and other 3d applications? (for connection to 3d applications)
4. I want to use Octane in office and home, do i need 2 licenses or do i need to transfer the license from 1 computer to other when using it? I mean i will be using it on one computer at one time.
5. Is there any commercial training video / material available for learning Octane?
6. Will i be able to get free update of Octane final release or discounted price?
7. Do i need internet connection all the time on my computer in order to run Octane? or just for activation of the program?
8. Can i buy Octane using Paypal?

Thanks in advance.

trying to answer your questions:

1) yes for c4d, don't know for lw. both available exporter plugins are provided by community members, so the availability isn't guaranteed. the current version for c4d is for r11, but still works in r12 and r13. as i don't do animations, i can't tell if it works flawlessly, but in theory it should.

2) currently there are these special passes: geometric normals, shading normals, position, z-depth and material id (others may come, some may never, tbt)

3) like answered in 1): there are exporter plugins, all developed by community members & free of charge (currently for max, maya, xsi, c4d, sketchup, blender, modo, lw, rhino, and daz studio). specialized fully integrated plugins are currently in the works (max already released, maya and xsi announced, others to follow), but they are only available at additional cost.

4) you could do that. a license can be deactivated (local or online), and re-activated on another workstation; there is just a 1 hour delay between that two actions needed.

5) no commercial stuff yet, but another community member made a bunch of very good videos, and our community is a really nice and helpful one :)

6) afaik: yes.

7) the last versions released are supposed to work offline if activated, but you will of course have no access to the live db (online materials database).

8) don't know and can't remember from my purchase ;)

hope it helps...
