I've been trying to render a 600 frame camera animation overnight for the last few nights. Every day I wake up to a "sorry max has crashed" dialog box with no indication of what might have happened.

Interestingly if I look at the last image produced it is fully baked to 1024 samples but only partially saved. Here's what I mean. Does this mean something is happening in the save image to hard drive process? What could be going on?

Crashed again while watching it this time 300 frames later. No obvious reason, just *blink* close application, "max has crashed error report" dialog.
Again the last image rendered was at the sample max I set (lowered to 512 to help speed up render, I'm running behind now), but only partially saved.

Strangely even the same amount of the image was saved from top to bottom...

Can't see any images you uploaded.
Does it crash after first frame of animation, or at the end of animation?

I think that are the saved last images when Max crashed.

That's exactly the problem Karba. I can't see them either. Not becasue the image didn't upload to the forum, but because that's all max is saving out for during the crash. Normally I wouldn't be bothered to post a random problem like this, but it has been consistently happening while I try to render this project out for a deadline. So far 7 times it has happened and each time the last image that was saved is incomplete, but the quality of the complete portion shows me that octane WAS finished with the render, and either the save file to disk caused an issue or the setup on the next frame caused it to crash during the save?

It's not the first frame, or the last frame, but somewhere in the middle max just crashes.

Here's a screenshot of the forum post above with some more explanation in pictures.

Still no crashes. I don't have a plugin like max2ae.dllo you use

max2ae is just a conversion script to turn camera/plane data into after effects keyframes.
I've used several times without issues.

You've rendered the whole thing from 1-700 without crashes?
Crap. Was hoping it was something I can fix, not a random problem...
