GTX 590 Notes

Hello guys,

I got a little rig upgrade.
I now have a gtx 590 and was wondering what options are need to be checked in the Nvidia Control panel and other things that you should keep an eye out for.
There are some threads that stated there were problems with the 590. Which is the reason for the concern that i have.

I haven't run octane yet since i need to transfer 300 gig over to the new computer, so there is no rush

just make sure you uncheck SLI in the nvidia options

Yeah my papu grandpa as clueless as he is went full head on in the hardware not knowing that my sister will not use half of the power, she got mine and i got the new one.
I feel so spoiled right now, but at least i will be using this computer to its knees, with simulations and some unbiased rendering of course.

Here is a quick simulation test it was a over night one.

Res : 500
Sub : 2
Tracer : 3
Gen particles : 2

It only took 4Gbs though, im doing another test that will use 7 Gbs of.Res will be 600-800

The rendering in octane was a pain, i only have 30 Mbs left of Vram, and that was in path tracing in the standard Res.

Did you not have i7 980x and 2x gtx580 before? Did you sell that?

Nah my sister got my previous system [Which is still to much power for her needs] and i got the computer that she was suppose to have.
