Just started to learn blender and Octane for things other than arch viz. I have done quite a bit of sketchup architectural models to Octane and this is my first non arch. post.
The watch not fully modelled yet but just wanted a quick render out of Octane to review. Blender has a learning curve compared to SU...!!

Nice render ! I'd like to model a watch mechanism one day...
French Blender user - CPU : intel Quad QX9650 at 3GHz - 8GB of RAM - Windows 7 Pro 64 bits. Display GPU : GeForce GTX 480 (2 Samsung 2443BW-1920x1600 monitors). External GPUs : two EVGA GTX 580 3GB in a Cubix GPU-Xpander Pro 2. NVidia Driver : 368.22.
You have a very nice render here! Though it does not exactly look real, probably because of the almost balanced shine the metal links have. I mean, the colors are sort of well defined that makes it seem like a render.
But that is what everyone is aiming for anyway, a great render. And this surely is classified as such! I would one day think of rendering the back mechanism of a watch as well.
