the "-m" option is supposed to be followed by the name of the mesh, not a path+filename. If you didn't rename your mesh inside Octane, then the name of the mesh is the filename without the path (xxxx.obj).

"IOR (Index of reflection) input on the glossy material.
OctaneRender 2.52 and before provided a slider called 'specular' to define the specular reflection amount on a glossy material.
We have now added a new parameter called 'index' which allows you to use an IOR (index of reflection) value instead, to accurately define the glossyness of a material from a reference measured value."

IOR is usually Index Of Refraction, not reflection... but glossy non transparent materials have no refraction.

It seems that the LiveDB still has that problem of not being able to download macros with bigger textures in it (for example; 1024 RGB). If I try to download some such materials, for example: Materials > Organic > Stone > Pave Ericdesign (check it), Octane starts to download the data (becomes unresponsive), but at the end the material macro doesn't appear. Most of the materials can be downloaded, but those that appear to have bigger textures embedded in them, cant be.
Do you also experience this or it's the problem on my side?

might be a timeout problem depending on the speed of the internet connection; the mat you mentioned works here (8mbit connection)...matej wrote:It seems that the LiveDB still has that problem of not being able to download macros with bigger textures in it (for example; 1024 RGB). Yes, that's exactly that. I tried it again, blocked every other activity, and it downloaded successfully. I have a non-optimal connection, 2 mbit on a good weather day...t_3 wrote: might be a timeout problem depending on the speed of the internet connection; the mat you mentioned works here (8mbit connection)...

Well i haven't checked back in a while because i couldn't really "cut up" my renders for post work with the previous versions, had lost faith to be honest and was back on MR but having a material ID channel to generate masks is great! I'm back on board
(and looking forward to not using MR's final gather...)
