Extremely beautiful images you've got there matej! Also, your post count is 1337 at the moment so I suggest you never post another thing ever, so that we can admire your wonderful post count; if you are not familiar with 1337, just nevermind. Or google it :p

The finished low-poly captain character:

it doesn't look super-great because its of course lowpoly, the texture limit is 1024 px and because it's a game character the whole thing is represented by a single glossy material.

in my opinion it looks super great, only the mantle would need of a bit of sss... how many polys?

This last version is cca 12,900 triangles. The problem with SSS is that it would need another texture to define it, but the model already uses a total limit of 2k x 2k texture data space available. To fit another texture, I would need to re-scale the others down and they are quite low-res for my taste already. :)
