I'm not shure if this topic was allready discuted, but...

Do Octane have plans to able Octane plugin interface?
Shoud be a good way for new mesh importers, exporters, texturies (like SSS, fur, normal maps, bamp maps, alpha channel, etc),
lightining (photometric spots and maps), etc...

Hi,

Not in the immediate future as there is no viable architecture to program plugins that work on a GPU currently.

For this you need to do it in your host app
Octane will support instances but not scattering of objects

Of course:). Maybe in future octane would support some kind of scattering. Thinking somehing similar to itoosoft forest plugin which efficiently scatters very large amounts of instranced geometry. Ideal for forests, large areas under grass, plants, pebbles...

Yes! This is a must for exterior arch-viz.
Istances is good, but scattering stuff does the difference.
Right now I'm working in an externa project, but due to the high plants, I use VRay.
The scene use about 14 GB or RAM to render ehhh... :)
