Hello, I just upgraded to Lion and the recent release of Octane 2.52 won't run. It's also a 32 bit version. Am I out of luck?

Hi,

We currently don't have any OSX Lion OS on our mac's in the office to test our releases.
Other than making sure the propper CUDA 4.0 toolkit and drives is installed there is nothing else we can do then wait until we have installed lion in the office (we'll do that soon).

That's nice to know but I can't even get Octane to launch, let alone render anything.
Not sure why yours works and mine doesn't.

Hi Guys,

Just checking back in. I still cannot run Octane 2.52 on my MacBook pro. Version 2.42 worked.
I'm also wondering if there's going to be a 64 bit version of this soon.

Where are we at with this?

Thanks,
Mark

First, make sure you have up-to date drivers for CUDA. 2.46 is built for CUDA3.2, while later versions are CUDA 4.0.

Follow the instructions here: http://refractivesoftware.com/forum/vie ... 263#p62263 .

Hi Roland,

I have installed all of those and still no luck. 2.42 runs but no luck with 2.52.
It's also only 32 bit.

Thanks

So, what happens? Does the Octane window open? Do you get an error when you start rendering by clicking a node?

If you open the preferences and go to the cuda devices tab, are your GPU's visible?
