Hello,

I am wondering if anybody has considered the potential to crowd source the development of an integrated solution for Softimage (or any other software for that matter) through something like kickstarter?

So, refractive could setup a page where we (the people :geek: ) can pledge to help fund the development. If the goal is reached, then the pledges are taken, and we get a plugin!

Anybody have any insights to what would be involved in developing a plugin for SI (like the integrated 3dsmax solution) and why this could or could not work?

the first thing that needs to be involved is refractive software limited ;)
maybe you have overseen this: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... f=7&t=8785

radiance had already posted that there is something going on alongside their own max plugin, so a little patience till the first round of new plugins is announced is all that is needed at the moment :)

regarding kickstarter; it's a nice idea but as rsl markets & sells all the plugins that will be developed in this program, rsl itself would need to start a funding there. might be an option though, i don't know...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

1x i7 2600K @5.0 (Asrock Z77), 16GB, 2x Asus GTX Titan 6GB @1200/3100/6200
2x i7 2600K @4.5 (P8Z68 -V P), 12GB, 1x EVGA GTX 580 3GB @0900/2200/4400

That's good to know. I would have thought that refractive was just getting help from the community to develop plugins.
