Hi Everybody,

Since the beginning I'm using Octane render, I read a lot of post around its render time performance. But there is something I don't understand : why does it take so much time with me??? See for example the picture of a really simple scene i quickly did to explain my problem.

For information, I got an Intel Core I7 2.8 GHz, a GTX 470 and 8 Go RAM.

Thanks for your help.

Simple is relative...
You have a closed room and much light.
Which kernel you use?
Try to use pathtracing with depth 5.

The number of separate lights is probably the main issue for slowness. Compare with one emiting plane that stretches the whole area.

and by the way: often an incorrect scene scale leads to problems. like, if you need to set extreme values to lit a scene, the scene scale may be wrong. i.e. if a room should be a 5x5x3m, and you need thousands of watts light power, the scale is definitely off. and the performance as well as the noise level will suffer from this...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply
