Hi,
I see that you are trying to do with Octane Render a very simple and friendly program. I have two suggestions that may significantly improve work with your product.
1. The process of applying textures.
So yesterday I was deal with overlapping textures in a project I work on. I had a wall with birck. In my catalog I have 100 bricks textures. So I chose a first one - no didn't like that. Again I open catalog and try second - no it dosn't match. I was doing that until 58 file. I lost lots of time to open catalog and scroll view to next texture.
My conclusion is simple - don't close window with textures until you find the right one. And it would be perfect if with open window you cuold still be able to change gamma, scale and etc.
2. Camera response.
The same problem as in first point. Until you find the righ camera response you have to do a lot of clicking. It would be easier to do one big list of cameras and by pressing the arrow keys on the keyboard chose the best one. The same solution is in Indigo Render - I take a first camera from list and by pressing down arrow button I can see the result of next camera.
Thanks for watching and regards.

Thanks Portgas for answer. It's a pity that no one from Octane Team isn't interested to answer.
About your question of presets materials - did you check "Live DB" on the left side of Octane window? There are lots of materials.
