We are going to try to post a new version of the 3ds max plugin product tomorrow which fixes the slow rendering / noise problem and should give identical speed and quality between 3ds max and standalone.

Nice! I can definitely say I am enjoying Xmas holidays much more than you (...and gabrielefx)

will you send out an email when the fix is ready?

Could you render a small animation overnight in 720p of your scene with octanerender for 3ds max ?
Maybe say 300 or 500 frames or so with directlighting, and 2 bounce diffuse GI...

yes, I can do it.
Yesterday I did a little test (70 frames) animating the Octane camera. All frames were affected by a slight jittering.
Probably this happened because I merged my cm. scene into a new one in mm to avoid the noise. Then I raised the decimal digits from 3 to 5 to tune well some materials.
I will try to render the scene with the 2.56b release.
Thank you for the new release.
