Octane has a really huge potential.
Given that you have the right hardware, it is by far the fastest render-engine I have ever worked with.
It produces in seconds what Maxwell cannot produce in hours.
But its success on the market depends on the ability to integrade it into the Main-Apps.
Lucky Max-owners, they already have a working product now.
Sadly, we C4d-users stay behind, like so often.
With the current C4d-plugin-exporter, Octane is unfortunately not seriously usable.
The material-translation from c4d-material into octane-materials is way behind compared to what can be archieved if you set up the materials in octane itself. But as octane cannot render animations in the standalone version, we vitally need the plugin.
Let's hope they find a talented programmer soon. If octane would work with pascal-code, I would build it myself. But I know almost nothing about C, so, no chance.
