Hi everyone, Face.
I'm having a serious issue with the latest version of the plugin which unfortunately is postponing my holidays since I have a delivery before the end of 2011. After upgrading from a very old version(1.022) I used to have, that exploded my PF every tenth frame the final version does not want to render animations.
I installed the MS runtimes etc as described and uninstalled the older one and restarted. The latest plugin showed up properly and exports single frame renders flawlessly, but when I try to render animations it only renders the first frame of the sequence and then closes Octane and stops. No other messages of any kind.
Now I have to live again with one of the obsolete plugins and its random freezes.
I am using XP 64bit and Softimage 2012.
i7, 6GB RAM, GTX560ti 2GB+ GTX260 892MB.
Please Face save my holidays!
Soft2Octane 2.52c [Obsolete]
What version of Octane are you running? You wrote that you upgraded from 1.22 but not to what version. Im using 2.55b without any problem at all. I haven't had time to test 2.56 yet, so if thats the version you are running, it may be causing problems..
Win7, i7 980 Hexacore, 24GB RAM, 3xEVGA SC 670 GTX 4GB
I don´t know what the problem is.
There was an issue with an Octane version, which has saved the image and close but was still present in the task manager.
You can check the taskmanager after Octane close and if there is an exsting Octane task, try to kill him.
For that i have included some code, the plugin should close Octane after 30seconds of inactivity, means 0% load in the task manager.
You should than see an error message in the script window like "Octane Termated on Frame 2".
Maybe there is an issue with WindowsXP which lets the code be ineffective.

that is right, when the render stops, octane is still alive on the task manager, but even if I wait, it is not killed.
I am using Octane 1.025 beta 2.52 and Soft2Octane 2.52c, aren't these the final versions?
It is not easy for me to blame my trusty XP64 for the mess though, since I never had any other problems being caused by this OS.

Ah ok.
The last version is 1.025 b2.56 and can be found here:

That should solve the problem.
