Here are some tests I'm doing for Apocalypse competition 2011. The render are made with version 2.52, version 2.55 because it gives me problems with textures. The scene has 4.86 million polygons, images were generated with only 1000 samples. I'm working on the textures and objects. I started this project for over 2 months, but had not had time to finish ... excuse me my English ..

There is something about this I think is really well composed. Well composed elements and grass and logos in just the right position etc. Well done.
I think what will make it or break it is if you figure out how to light the dude just enough to make him the focus in his Octaenless disspear... but still get to see the burning/melting logos.

I look forward to the final output
