The settings in the Octane manual are correct except for the scale which must be set to 1% Daz scale is 1 unit=1cm octane scale is 1 unit=1m If you get the scale wrong lighting will not work as intended scale is very important in octane.

Generally the .obj will allow for difuse, bump and Opacity but its dependant on the materials being in the right spots in the surface settings. For this reason you may need to manually find the textures that don't export properly.

As to settings Diffuse is fine at 1 but both specular and bump need to be set based on the map but generally bump should be very low .020 is not uncommon. Specular and roughness is according to taste and again varies if your using a specular map.

Ive not found settings for the SSS in Octane that im happy with but using a mix material 1 glossy 1 diffuse with a SSS map in the transmission channel for the Diffuse is a good start but the effects tend to be subtle.

By creating material macros for the main surface groups Face, Torso and Limbs you can save 1 of these as a template and altrering material macros is quicker than altering each individual surface.

If you have any other specific questions feel free to ask.
Thanks for the detailed info :)

So, I tried beta 2.55b RC and import obj from Daz Studio and I see the medium for absorption and scattering on the right tab column. But I don't see the result when I changed the parameters.

What did I do wrong?

maybe you should start with something dead simple to see how sss works and what it does. this is imo not soemthing you just dial in and everything looks cool ;) refer to this post for details: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... 80&p=67650
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

1x i7 2600K @5.0 (Asrock Z77), 16GB, 2x Asus GTX Titan 6GB @1200/3100/6200
2x i7 2600K @4.5 (P8Z68 -V P), 12GB, 1x EVGA GTX 580 3GB @0900/2200/4400
