Hello everybody!

I'm Eduardo, from El Salvador, and I work heavily with Maya and Realflow, for Industrial Process Visualizations (water treatment plants, piping systems, etc). I just found out about Octane Render and I am impressed by it! Awesome work, guys! :o :D

My workflow in most cases consists on simulating fluids with RF, exporting *.bin mesh sequences to Maya, and rendering with Nvidia Gelato 2.2, using a couple of Nvidia 512mb 8800 GT's in SLI.

I wanted to ask the following questions:

1) Does Octane Render have some method of importing a mesh sequence for batch rendering? If not directly from Realflow, could I convert the files to an OBJ sequence in Maya and then batch process that?

2) I generally work in SD (720x480), and with a max polycount of about 250,000 triangles, give or take. I understand that at least as of now, I can only use one of the 8800 GT's for rendering with Octane. In an apples to apples scenario, would Octane using one 8800 GT outperform Gelato using SLI?

Thanks for your time, and again congratulations on your software!

Hi,

Not at this time, we're working on batch/animation rendering, and it's going to be made available in next revisions.
