I would be more than happy to use any new features that are in the upcoming version! I'd say to extend especially for those who already submitted.

for me is ok. new feature? what?what?what?what?what?what?what?what?
I was thinking who would cry for us if the apocalypse came and took us all. I wanted to depict a street a little after an apocalypse, where it wasn't clear if we were all dead or just fled the city and where the only witnesses left were the sculptures we left behind and the architecture, as mute survivors. I wanted to leave some clues of what had happend (the exploding moon, blood in some places, the "crying" sculpture) yet not give a clear sign. I pick a street on a district I love in Madrid (Malasaña) and did some mixing with different places in that district, all you see you can find it there, including the student sculpture (there are several on that series, althou this one has my girls face instead of the original one as explained in the wip)
You can see a more detail explanation on the wip thread, basically the whole street modeled in SU, debris and sculpture in sculptris, moon and curtain in max, and all mixed and exported from max. Tree, and props inside the shop are from googleware house, textures either hand painted, from my personal photos from some real jobs in buildings in that area or at least the same tipology, and heavily modified downloaded from cgtextures.
Rendered in PMC for 8K-12K samples, for about 5hrs, I did also an occlussion pass in DL and added it, small glare added to some street lamps, added logo, and minor color correction (small desaturation) no other retouching.
As always is been great fun and I've learned quite a lot. PS. on the delay subject, my entry will be ready on time, yet if most people are for giving some more time so we can have more contestants, it's fine by me.

PS2: added a night-day comparation, the day one has a HDRI sky and it was done in PT 5K samples for 2hrs, the night one 8K samples in PMC for 5hrs. This will we the last one for a while, since the competition has been extended, I'll work in my next scene. I have to say that this shot is totally thanks to Octane, meaning that I was playing around with the camera and found it by luck, It was not planned (or at least in my head like the other ones) just exploring the scene, and there it was, and it might be the one I like most so far.
Hope you like it.

very very very impressive. good job. *****
So, is the competition extended? Just saw it and don't think I can manage that in a week that's left.
Hi all,
I have extended the competition until the end of the year.
I wanted to do an additional 20-30 days, but thought it would be very appropriate to the theme to have it end on 31 december 2011
Good luck to all participants
