Here is a video of a 2K animation downscale to 1080HD
It took around three days to render but since i was away on camp it didnt really matter
The results are just magnificent, there are no white dots present.

Specs:

2K
140 degrees turn table
840 samples = 20 mintues
170-90 frames > forgot
GTX 580
PMC

The flickering because of the blotchy PMC result gives it an interesting effect, but this can be a problem.

3 days of nonstop rendering? I suppose you notified the fire brigade to be on standby, before going away? :D

yeah lol i was worried during the entire camp but with my gpu fans on 80% and with my computer case open, the temp was fluctuating between 55 and 67 Degrees, i was thinking it would reach 80 degrees by the third day but all went well :D

Not a fan of the texture on the side of that middle kitchen bench, but otherwise it looks nice. :P

I was also wondering about the ease of learning Maya, being a Blender user, too. If I were to learn a commercial 3D package, I'd say it would have to be Maya. I hated 3DS Max. Though I'm very happy to stick with Blender. It has the tools I need. :)
