Hi everyone, one of the Artist working in my company is experiencing a problem with Octane exporter from Maya.
Basically, when he tries to export a scene, Octane loads up, you can see the materials tree and the schematic view, but when he clicks on the obj node, nothing shows up in the rendering viewport.
Also, the Export dialog has a problem as well, clicking any of the "Browse" button doesn't open any window, and Maya reports this error:
// Error: Cannot find procedure "fileDialog2".
We tried to re-install Octane, but the problem remains.
It's strange because it was working with no problem few days ago, and now just doesn't.
The Octane version is 2.52
OS Windows XP 32bit
Maya 2009 and Maya 2012, both with the same problem.
Any ideas?
Octane stopped working, please help!

Actually, we found out that from the Maya exporter, by clicking Render the object does shows up in Octane, BUT, when we save the scene and close it, than re-open it again in Octane (not from Maya), nothing shows up in the rendering view...

Another update, we noticed that when we start Octane, the tabs have one of our project name, instad of "Unnamed Project". The guy told me he might had click on "Save As Default" button when a scene was open, so this might be the source of the problem... Is there any way to reset Octane? Re-installing it doesn't reset the default preferences... Any idea?

the preferences are stored somewhere in the windows/mac user profile and can be safely deleted. was mentioned some time ago here in the forum, but i don't find it now. another thing that may help is: open octane directly, clean up whatever there is, and click "save as default" again...Q-Games wrote:Another update, we noticed that when we start Octane, the tabs have one of our project name, instad of "Unnamed Project". Hi, delete the file "default.ocs" or move to another place.
After start octane you get the factory default stage, change settings like you want and Save as Default in File menu.
At linux the is in your home/Refractive Software/ folder.
Cheers, mib.
