Hi Sam,
I am interested in contributing to the development of the Rhino plugin.
Might you be interested in sharing the source code?

I am happy to hear a sign from you Sam.
You did great work with the exporter so far. But with many responsibilities and the family time is fading. We understand.

I wish mvs good luck for his aim to improve what is there and share it.
Many are depending on the Rhino exporter.

Hi,

I work on Rhino and am glad to see the possibility of a plugin with octane. But for now I can not install the current version: OctaneExport_110429

Could someone tell me about where to put files and how to operate?

Thanks a lot, my best regards

Pull the files right into your Rhino viewport.
Type RenderOctane in Rhino and setup the octane.exe path before.

Thanks for your reply Refracty ;)
Sorry to be late, but I tried but without success. When you say "type Octane Render in Rhino," this means defining Octane as a plug in to export? Is what it would be possible for you to explain step by step, this manipulation? Thank you for your help.

Excuse me for my bad English

My best regards

First save and extract the files to where you want them to permanently live on your hard drive. When extracted, you should have two files, RenderOctane.rhp and RenderOctane.tb.

Start Rhino, be sure you only have one instance of Rhino running. Drag and drop RenderOctane.rhp onto the open session of Rhino. Then do the same with RenderOctane.tb. Close Rhino and then reopen.

To render in Octane you can use the toolbar that was loaded when you drug RenderOctane.tb onto Rhino, or you can use the command RenderOctane.

Thanks SamPage.

I am very late to answer you because I did not have much time right now. I understand better and will test this, but I need to update before rhino 4 (should I use SR8-SR9?).
In fact I had originally downloaded the source files (in .rvb) and did not understand how and where to place ... But it's ok now.
To be honest I can't use octane since I bought it (5 licenses) because unable to move and change the textures in octane. Rhino is not suitable for this, one can place basic textures but it's really not practical.

So thanks a lot for your help ;)
