Hello holocube,
You can simply export an *.obj with the standart exporter of the modeler disabling zbrush option.
The smoothing will be ok in octane.
Any news about an update for the exporter ?..

that would then be modeler only right?
during the HC beta they added obj export from layout but didnt include vertex normals.... which I fogged but was ignored..

I tried exporting a sphere from modeler, checking the .obj it did write the normals. In octane I end up with this:
(smoothing is turned on in material)
haven't exported .obj from modeler to octane before, what settings are you using?

Ops,
sorry, I have the same result that you...
Strange, some time ago, to passtrough the smooth problem, I was exporting from modeler
and it works just fine.
My problem was on glossy materials reflecting the environement...

Actually I got the same render with Francks sphere.
Could anyone export from another working package, even a simplier object would be great. Then share the .obj
Thanks!

Exact this image isn´t a export issue, this is a problem with the renderalgorithm, called "Terminator".holocube wrote:I tried exporting a sphere from modeler, checking the .obj it did write the normals. In octane I end up with this:
