Hi all,
Please do not turn this post into a thread with questions regarding the new product,
as we can not and will not provide/answer to any details about the new plugin product before it's the public announcement in a few weeks.
The less questions asked about the product, the less work for us in answering posts and the quicker the product can be released to everyone.
Refractive Software LTD is pleased to announce a new product coming soon,
a fully integrated plugin for 3DS Max.
The new product will be called 'OctaneRender® for Autodesk® 3ds Max®'.
It will be sold on our website as a separate product and will require an existing OctaneRender® license to function.
The product is a fully integrated plugin solution that embeds the engine into 3DS Max as fully integrated, native, interactive render engine.
We expect the product to be ready for sale in less than 2 months, and it will be released in a beta form, and offered with a beta program at a discount price,
alongside the OctaneRender beta program. Both products will stay in the beta program together until both go live with v1.0 final.
We are currently looking for a small team of alpha and early beta testers to participate in a closed testing program.
We have 10 positions open for applicants.
Who can apply ?
- You must be an existing OctaneRender licensed customer for at least 6 months
- You must have a high level of experience with current OctaneRender software, it's exporters for 3DS Max, and an active forum community activity history.
- You must have a high level of experience with 3DS Max 2011 or 2012, and be an active users with existing models and scenes to test the engine with.
In return for your assistance in testing the alpha and early beta releases, you will get a free license for the new product, which will remain yours after the closed testing program is finished.
How to apply ?
-> Please introduce yourself and you're willingness to participate as a reply to this forum thread.
We will hand-pick 10 candidates in a few days, when we have received enough applications.
Please do not send e-mails or PMs to us as we have our hands already full processing other support messages.
We appreciate your participation,
Yours,
The OctaneRender Team

My Name ich Michael Betke got Octance since last year now and although I'm not the most active person here on the board I work with Octane regulary and switched from Maxwell to Octane more and more depending on complexitiy of the project. It's likely that I will upgrade a second GPU because recently I got more and more projects coming in which fit for GPU rendering.
I use 3ds Max 2010-2012 x64 on a daily base in my company and also would like to help out with the testings and try them out in my production environment too.

To the Team
Consider me a backup if you get stuck for testers.
I muck about with Max 2012 amongst other modellers and have a few furnishing models I can use.
I'm probably not worth a licence but I'll help where I can.

I'm up for it. Been using Max Design/ Viz for a few years now, mainly for external visualisations of architectural projects.

Hi, I'm quite interested in this, count me into the team please..
I'm doing architecture - interior, exterior design and product design.
I have expert level of 3dsmax using it since it's DOS versions and high level of knowledge about Octane render.
Have big arsenal of scene to be tested right away.
Best regards.

I would love to, if you guys are interested, I usually work in max and sketchup, and most of my past scenes are in max. But this next months I'm going to be pretty busy (or so it seems now, besides we've got the competition) so I'd be a "second round" choice, just in case you don't fill up your required alpha tester positions. But I wouldn't mind donating a couple of scene's for the testers in case you guys are interested if you could find more actives one (All my past contest where done in max, so those could be used). Good luck with the plugin (You already have a willing buyer and I haven't seen it yet

Hi
I have been using Max since V1, I use it on a nearly basis and am a beta tester. I have been using Octane pretty much since it was launched give or take an hour or so
I must confess that I have not posted a massive amount of the forum, I must participate more.
My core work is architectural visualization.
I would be really happy to help push Octane further.
Cheers
Neil
