Hy Guys!
I have two GPU cards in my cpu.
GTX 580 and GTS 450.
Everytime I enable multi GPU and turn On GTS 450 in Octane, my computer shut down.
My font has 1000w.
Is this a problem of overheating, my font has insufficient watts or is this a problem of Octane?
I have 8 coolers in my cpu and my pc Probe does not indicate overheating.
Thnks For helping me!

HI,
well same here:
I moved my 2 gtx 580 3Gb to my new workstation, it's an HP Z800, with a 1100 w PSU, bixeon 5680 3.33ghz, with 48 Gb Ram...this machine is rocksolid and insanly fast, but..
whenever I enable multi gpu, computer reboots...
when I render only on 1 gpu (the second not used by display), computing faills in about 15-20 secs.
I wayched over overheating but the 2 cards seem to be at 60/65 degre when running at full cuda speed, and around 35 degree celcius in idlle...so this is not the problem.
I have last 280.26 drivers, on seven 64 pro.
And btw, I do some heavy realtime opengl and directx rendering...without any troubles at all

Wow, you have an excellent Workstation!
Now, It´s Clear for me that the problem is not with font and overheating.
Octane Team, Could you help us or give a direction for us?
Thnks,

Hi,
First, make sure SLI (or multi-GPU mode) is disabled when you use Octane with multiple GPU's. If one of the cards you use for rendering is also used for display, try disabling aero.
And what driver are you using? Some people reported issues with the latest driver, 275.33 may work better.

Octane does not detect my ENGTX 465 when placed in second PCIe slot and I am using my old Ati for display. I saw that it was one of the new feauters that it would work, but no.
EDIT: it might be my motherboard that is crappy, second pcie port seems wacko.

I could solve the problem.
First I made a Upgrade and bought a GTX 590 to use with my GTX 580.
Second: I bought another font with 450w.
I made a paralell connection and turned on my MB and HDS in this new font and let my 1000w fonts only for 2 GTX.
My computer Stops to shutdown and I can use until 3 gpu in Octane.
Te only problem now is the overheating.
For a while I´m using a airblower.
I think is a font problem.

GTX 580 and 590 have the same core ships so it is a save play.
Honestly, 1000W for a PSU should be more then enough (if the real output is 1000W max).
I am running 3 GTX 590 plus a GTX 580 and that settup sucks 1300 W at full load.
