Radiance, don't want you to get crosseyed prematurely
Take a breather and relax. I for one can wait until you're done and I bet that's the opinion shared here

I am happy with my Near Area Server running minimal Linux. I can see it as a network drive on my PC, and every time I manage to create something worthwhile (or purchase software etc), I just copy the stuff to the NAS over 1000 Mb/s network. Maybe it's not perfect security, but if something happens that manages to destroy both my PC and my NAS-server, then the event is so major that losing some data is one of the smallest problems.MadMinstrel wrote:As for reinstalling tens of gigabytes and losing licenses, that doesn't happen since I just temporarily add a drive to the RAID array to create a bit-for-bit copy every time I add a new tool to the workflow. While I've never had anything stolen from me, on the two occasions when my drives died I just put the backup drive back in and let the RAID restore the system - it worked fine without any reinstalling.
