It then opens a dialogue to find them manually which it does so at the location specified in preferences.

Looking manually at my .ocs file there is difference between the new .ocs and previous .ocs files.

The path to the mesh and textures starts "<linkedfilename>..\..\Desktop" in the new .ocs but the old one has "<linkedfilename>..\Desktop"

I have relative paths ticked in the preferences.

UPDATE

I went through and found the mesh and textures for octane then saved it without relative paths ticked and reloaded fine.

On a different .ocs that I saved in this version with relative paths octane had no problem.

Resaving the the original file with relative paths enabled reproduced the same result on reloading.
Hmm, I couldn't reproduce this issue. Could you maybe give step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the issue?

Thanks,
Marcus

I did some test in this version and in others and it seems that both of my gpus are really overheating. With the fans on 90%, and with it In direct lighting. I will post a better statistical graph later, if the problem keeps on happening

Im assuming its file structure specific so heres what ive been using

ocs file location

C:\Users\John\Documents\project.ocs

none relative and relative locations taken from ocs file

C:\Users\John\Desktop\dazpics\renderscene\project\project.obj -- none relative(finds file)

..\..\Desktop\dazpics\renderscene\project\project.obj -- Relative this version (doesnt find file)

..\Desktop\dazpics\renderscene\project\project.obj -- Relative previous versions(finds file)

if I save the ocs file in the same directory as the .obj the path appears in the .ocs as

..\project.obj

and doesnt find it.

in short its adding a "..\" in front of the path where previous versions didnt when it saves a relative location.

I have material macros that I have imported to the scene the textures to these are stored at this path

C:\Users\John\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio3\content\Runtime\textures\DAZ\Characters\MilWom\V4\V4AmyFaceB.jpg

appearing in the ocs file as

..\DAZ 3D\Studio3\content\Runtime\textures\DAZ\Characters\MilWom\V4\V4AmyFaceB.jpg

If I manually locate the .obj it will then find all of the other textures in the /maps subdirectory

Hi all, here is my test of pmc...

cca 8000 samples, cca 3 hours, 3000x1600. Hdr lighting. Little post. Simple model downloaded from ronenbekerman site. Very fast texturing, materials..etc...I wanted to try speed of pmc only.

So, big up for octane team! I love pmc!

cheers Jan

TurnTable & DayLight animation is working, if display GPU is unchecked at mutil GPU envirionments.
But when display GPU is checked, the UI speed of TurnTable & DayLight animation was terrible.

Hey,

I'm starting to understand where my artefacts where coming from [...]
But what's weird is that I haven't seen people talking about that issue.
When you activate the Material Smoothing on a an object, the polygons on a low angle from the camera are starting to get mad.
I just wanted to be sure that you were aware of that.

Regards.

I actually encountered something similar with 2.49 version recently, though it was not overheating, just SUBJECTIVELY i was under impression my GPU (gtx590) was running hotter and louder than on previous versions. All that with Direct Lightning and the basic resolution - 1000x500 - or whatever it is. It seemed to me its as loud as it used to be when running pathtracing and 4000x2000 res....with small resolutions and DL it used to feel less "difficult on HW".

I've noticed the same issue. I think it is propobly driver problem. In my case graphic card overheats in octane 2,46b and 2,49b also...
Fans take only max 90%, but temperatures rising very high values. Strange think is that, the ambient temp. is lower in last few days...
One week ago I was rendered screen moovie for youtube in octane and everything works fine. After that i have updatet drivers... Actualy im using driver 280.26

It looks like that is not an Octane problem. I will try older drivers.
