I am constantly impressive of the quality pictures rendered out with Octane Render.
Currently it seems for most pictures they are currently more geared toward architectural
and model render. I saw Jeff Lew's Killer Bean render, that's for animation purpose indeed.
I was wondering, if octane render also include animation as its target market as well?

For SSSshader, if I remember it correctly it's aimed to be included at V2.0? Also will
RealFlow geometry and Maya nCloth geometry (especially the tear cloths that vertex numbers
will be changing) be supported in Octane Render? Will caustics be implemented too?

Just curious, since I think I haven't seen it be discussed in the forum yet, is there a road map
schedule of when v1.0 and v2.0 is planned to be released?

Also, Radiance, I would still strongly urge you to present Octance Render at Siggraph this year if possible,
even though you mentioned about the tight and crazy development and thousand things to do.
It would be a good exposure.

Last but not least, hope you recover from the flu soon.

Best,
Thomas

Re Siggraph,
I think this would be a good idea too however rather than the hassle and expense of a booth etc approach Nvidia and see if they will use it for Fermi/Cuda publicity at theirs. All somone has to do is load up a scene on a demo pc and then the passing artist public can play with it.
Perhaps an Octane user handy to the event could be paid a little to be on hand to answer questions and hand out fliers.

I was planning on going since it is in L.A. this year and I live somewhat near there. I am just trying to figure out how I am going to pay for entry. Anyone know what a straight floor pass costs? I'd be happy to help out the Octane team however I could.

I guess there might be a free pass going if someone was there in an official capacity. ;) I am sure Refractive could come to some mutually beneficial arrangement with Nvidia for a rep to be present at least some of the time...perhaps even do a short demo several times a day? dunno enough about it..
Its still about 5 months away but there might be some planning/registration to do soon - looks like by May.
Worth further consideration I would think. The exposure would certainly be good.

Siggraph 09 seems to have been about $50/day. See here.

Well if Refractive would like a presence, and can arrange something with Nvidia I can do it, just hit me up and let me know what you'd like demo'd and such. I'll have my gtx470/480 by then so I can bring one of my systems if needed too. Its not a killer machine in any sense, but I think that'd just show the power of Octane that much more. Would probably be good to have a few high and low poly scenes, maybe do a community pool of them, and an animation or two if that feature will be ready in time. I can print some DVD's/CD's with some demo scenes and the demo as well, cause shwag is always good to have at these kind of events. Let me know.

Hi all,

I don't think i can make it this year to siggraph, it's very expensive coming from europe and it's not far off.
However i'll investigate an alternative solution...
