It would be nice to have the following node to render multiple cameras over night:

The Batch Render Node

- this node has multiple inputs (e.g. 10) to link camera nodes into it. The render order is done from left to right inputs.
- You can specify the output folder as well as the total time or max samples that you would like to have. The names of the files are given from the camera nodes wich are linked.

This should be easy to implement, right?
Would be cool. What do you think?
Thanks

Additionally, Octane should be able to save to .exr, so that we can do tonemapping afterwards - preferably with Octane, ofcourse (=be able to open .exr with Octane and tonemap it)

Yip, exactly, i just didn't put it because Octane does not support exr output at the moment. I also would like to have a sepparate alpha channel or others be saved. I know you can put these in the exr but if you don't work with Nuke things get tricky.

+1

this would be a "sequenzer" node.

but i won't use the camera node, but the whole rendertarget node instead. afaik this also means that the gui needs to automatically save the final output - what it won't do at the moment...

the next use for a sequenzer node would be to step through different meshes ;)
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

...directly linking the render target nodes. Of course, good idea t_3.

... the longer i think of it, the more i like the idea of a sequenzer node; it could be used multiple times (one "timebase" though) to just switch misc. connections - step by step - after the current rendertarget has finished. should be fairly easy to implement and would open a range of new possibilities.
