OctaneFX wrote:I had a bug when paning the view when rendering in the view port (rendering resolution : HD1080). I used one GTX460.
I don't think it's overheat of the videocard as I have cool air in the room.
I have never had this bug since my use of Octane.
I think the problem happens when a tooltip was displayed there and the screen doesn't get refreshed, when the tooltip disappears - similar to http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... 490#p57490

It's an issue with the UI toolkit we use and we haven't found a cure yet, except continuously refreshing the viewport.

Marcus

Without an example scene and just some vague descriptions/screenshots on the forum it's extremely hard to fix this issue.

Thanks,
Marcus
I'll send you as soon as i'm at home. The scene is big, a 50-60 Mb obj. file

colorlabs wrote:Hi, it seems that the Mix Material "Amount" slider has been reversed. I don't know if this is a new issue in 2.48 or not, but shouldn't increasing "amount" make material #2 show up more? Currently if I move it up to 1.00 it shows material #1.
It was always like that. Don't ask me why. Unfortunately it's now too late to change it.

Marcus

Regarding the hot pixel removal reported by several people: Could someone please post an image showing the problem? As far as I can see it works here.

Thanks,
Marcus

So here are more pictures of the "dot pattern structure" in the ambient occlusion engine (Direct Lighting) in 2.48.

The images show the appearance of the dot patterns in 442, 1688 and 4234 s/px.
Check out the last pic (442_DL) to see the pattern in the inner corners.

At 4234 s/px the strange effect is almost gone but even with 442 s/px the shadows should come out fine.

Is it because of a huge scene (600 m * 600 m)?
The scale factor is correct and in 2.46b no problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot.

Yes it was already reported and it will be fixed with beta 2.48b. Thanks for the report nonetheless.

Marcus

Hi Refracty,

I think I know where the problem is, but can't reproduce it. Could you please send us that scene to [email protected] ?

Thanks a lot,
Marcus

I have now saved the image (while rendering) more than 20x times and it worked. Did this problem occur again or was it a one off?

Marcus
