I don't understand why 3 guys with very low resources can get this to work and you that are the real propertary, you than know whe code more than anyone else, and you than have more people working than these 3 guys are taking SO long in providing a simple camera animation.
For what I have understood, it is not a matter of skill or ressources : For Refractive software it would be a lack of time adding this feature right now, because Octane is going to evolve a lot and things would be to redo from scratch in the next months.
So, there are priorities in the treatment/addition of new features.

If we really need this animation feature right now, we can decide by ourself if it is worth it or not, according to the need/price balance. It is up to us...

That's what I'm talking about, what we need is to know WHEN is refractive software to add such a feature, they always say: soon, but I would rather preffer to hear something as: "is goint to take 1 or 2 months" or ""is goint to take 1 or 2 years" , doesn't matter how long, I just need an aproximated date, because as you may know... time is relative, specially for Refractive software people, and I would hate my self if I buy this software and then later on in a couple of weeks Refractive software provides a similar feature, all we need is an estimation, even if it's not exactly, I think we deserve this at least, isn't? or is too much to ask?

It´s relative simple.
How many time you can save with the software?
Can you make other jobs in the saved time?
If you can, you should buy. We speak about 60€, not 600€, one or two beers in a day lesser ;)

The spanish wage is not the same as the german one as you may know hehehe, not everyone is in a good economical condition to spend money is something that it can easily pass away very soon if Refractive software add this feature. The problem here is to know when, so if it's matter to wait or not.

actually worthy or not worthy...let me give you an example... if you have a job... they pay you 10.000 dollars for 2-3 minutes basic camera archviz video..

Is that camera tool worths 1000 dollars? YES.... Because client WANTS that camera angles ... and they pays only if you give them those angles...

Is that camera tool worths 9900 dollars...you know what YES... Because may that job may bring you 100.000 dollars in few weeks ...it can be a test job for that client..

So that thing is WORTHY .... and price in our industry can be very relative...

Also it is NOT a big problem if that thing is locked in current state.. 2,46 for example in my case

Question is can you make money using Direct Lighting Kernel with that Tool without zero upload in future...?

Answer ...YES of course... Because we are in strange business. Earlier we were charging for single frame renders, right now we are NOT because we have so many video request and because of our delivery times, we give single frames for free to our clients. Why? Because we are faster than anybody in our radius. Because we are faster we earn money...If this tool saves from time ... it is actually most important asset for our business.

Now my problem WHo is gonna write LW export for it... I gotta go and beg for LW programmers..

It definitely won't be 1 or 2 months... :)

They have to finish the current version (PMC), work on instancing, work on new I/O format, which will take quite a few months.

Thats correct, but you should know, what you expect from the tool.
If you can make one job per moth more with it, it should be usefull to buy it...

Something interesting in the authors website:
Q: Why don't you join hands with Refractive Software team?

A: We tried to do this 10 months ago when we developed the first version to use in our project, and contacted the owner and he refused.

hey don't talk about wages here, i'm from greece! cameron knows what i'm talking about haha... i'll soon have to move to another country to keep my job

anyone programming in vb.net or ever used C++/C#/vb to change a program's memory? I do the research using cheatEngine but eventually want to build a tool that will do it all by itself, for windows at least. i'm using vb.net through the windows API to change the camera position X for example, and nothing happens... mind if i attach some code? :D

i don't know if it's the right place to do it...

Code: Select all

Dim newValue As Single = cameraYbox.Value
Dim bytes() As Byte = BitConverter.GetBytes(newValue)
        WriteProcessMemory(procHandle, New IntPtr(&H728C178), bytes, 4, 0)
