Hi there.
i just purchased a gtx 590 and i am a bit surprised that in octane devices it shows
only one card with 512 cores , shouldn't it show two cards with the 1024 cores ,
please , somebody with the same card can help
cheers

Windows 7 , 64 b / GTX 590 / Archicad 15 , 64 b / Cinema 4D R 13 studio , 64b /Intel(R)Core(TM)Extreme3,20Ghz /always latest Octane.
You added the second card to the cuda devices?? but possibly also cos multi gpu is broken atm. should be 2 x 512cores/1.5gb
try 2.48 this week
perhaps too SLI is enabled and is affecting the reporting? I think you can disable SLI in the nvidia options.

As pixelrush said, you need to be sure, both devices are set to "Active" in the CUDA management settings or whatever is it called.pixelrush wrote:You added the second card to the cuda devices?? but possibly also cos multi gpu is broken atm. should be 2 x 512cores/1.5gb

You change this setting directly in Octane. If you go to the preferences in Octane, there will be options to choose what gpus to activate/deactivate.

Are you sure you're using CUDA 3.0?If i'm not mistaken, multi-gpu won't support 3.2 until the new version is released later this week.

"We are rewriting the multi-GPU feature to resolve this issue, also adding some new features, so as an intermediate solution we will be supplying both CUDA 3.2 and CUDA 3.0 solutions.
CUDA 3.2: Recommended version with better support for modern GPUs (like GeForce GTX 4xx/5xx), which should be used if you are not rendering on more than one GPU.
CUDA 3.0: Legacy version for correctly functioning multi-GPU support."

Yep, it should show 2 devices: Geforce GTX590 (0 compute 20) and Geforce GTX590 (1 compute 20). They might be both in the "Active" bracket, in which case you need to click on the bracket to roll-out with both cuda devices to show up.. if that does not happen, something is definitely wrong.ribrahomedesign wrote:thanks for that.

Be sure to switch Multi-GPU off within Nvidia Control panel as well.
