The PMC version was meant for testing but is there a functional ristriction of opening 2.47 nodes in 2.46b?
I tried it out but couldn't find any missing nodes / wrong linking so far...
Any experiences with using new scenes with the last recommended, stable build (2.46b)?
Cheers

Well, the beta 2.47 test build has quite a few issues (like overflows in superbright areas or multi-GPU problems). And the PMC kernel node can't be used in older builds, too.Refracty wrote:The PMC version was meant for testing but is there a functional ristriction of opening 2.47 nodes in 2.46b?

That's the reason why we recommended not to use the build for production work.

So lets say I am dealing with nodes and settings in 2.47 that are new (PMC, dispersion,...)
Will I get into trouble (scene will not open or scrambled) when I open the 2.47 in 2.46b?
I just want to be save (So save somebody could be by using a beta
)
Thanks Abstrax

In my experience 2.47 test version is very stable (only one crash so far), so I never went back to 2.46
Make a backup copy of a scene, open it in 2.47, tweak the new params., save it, and then try to open it in 2.46 and you'll see if it works.

I am having trouble with linking old camera nodes to the Preview node.
I will still use 2.46b for a while.
But thanks Matej.
