since theres no proxy in octane and as far as i know you cant make grass using displacement map like in 3ds, i was looking for a best way to create grass for octane. my first attempt ( http://i.imgur.com/bDEVF.jpg ) can look decent enough if i make the grass more dense, but it has too many polygons imo. so i'd appreciate if someone could give me a texture for this model http://i.imgur.com/u6wEy.jpg and explain how to apply it to the planes so i get something that resembles grass, i tried googling for the texture but i didnt have much luck finding something good...
i tried making texture and opactiy map myself, but results were bad, images below
