Hi guys
Would be nice to have in the camera a numerical control for the focus, so that you could focus with the AF picker, for example, and take a numerical value refered to the units of the model.
Two advantages:
1. cameras with all the parameters, so that you don't need to refocus when you change resolution etc.
2. you can focus things behind transparent objects (looking through a window, etc), which is now very difficult o impossible.

you can change the DOF distance by editing/sliding the value of your camera DOF control, next to picking,
and, you can also pick objects/materials behind others by 'right' clicking with the focus and mat picking tools.

Hi Radiance, thanks for your reply.
I can't see the DOF control. I suppose you mean "aperture", but that effectively changes the depth of field, but not the focus point.
I tried by 'right clicking' with the AF picker selected and it doesn't work. Maybe it could be because my glass is a two-sided solid? (it's not just a face, there are two).
Anyway would be nice to have a focus point linked to the camera with a value. There could be a check box where you could say wether you want it to be refocused through AF or AF picker or not.
Just a suggestion. The ability of Octane to make depth of field is one of the features I love best.
It makes a lot realistic the image and lets you select the important information. In 3DS this feature is a pain (it takes 10-20 longer when you do it).

I've have a problem finding focal distance too.
